How much does a Spitsbergen cruise cost?
A Spitsbergen cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, and its price depends on the length, the season and the cabin. Here are our rates, what they include and how payment works, with full transparency.
Our prices, voyage by voyage
Our rates are published on each voyage page and are per person, based on double occupancy. As of Oct 10, 2026, they start at:
- Autumn escape to Svalbard, 8 days in September: from €9,720;
- Autumn lights in Svalbard, 9 days in late September and October: from €11,110;
- Polar spring in Spitsbergen, 10 days in April and May: from €12,490;
- Midnight sun in Svalbard, 10 days in August: from €12,620;
- From Spitsbergen to East Greenland, 11 days in late August: from €13,880.
The price then depends on the cabin you choose: Polarfront has eight suites: Mike Suites, Loomis Suites and the Owner’s Suite. Up-to-date rates, cabin by cabin, and the remaining spots are on our voyages page.
What the price includes
On board, the price includes:
- full board on the ship;
- Zodiac excursions and landings;
- lectures on board with our two naturalist guides;
- water activities (polar pedal boat, fishing…);
- access to the wellness areas;
- the welcome and farewell cocktails, and the Captain’s dinner.
In your cabin, you will also find an extreme-cold suit per person for Zodiac outings, a bathrobe, towels and toiletries. Polarfront has satellite internet. The full list of inclusions is on each voyage page; flights to Longyearbyen are not included.
Traveling solo: the single supplement
To have a cabin to yourself, a 25% single supplement is automatically added to the rate.
How is the voyage paid for?
Payment is made in three steps: a first installment of 35% of the price to confirm the booking, a second deposit of 30% no later than 90 business days before departure, then the balance. Depending on your bank, paying by credit card may give you access to the insurance that comes with your card. Details are in our terms and conditions.
Why this price?
A Spitsbergen cruise aboard Polarfront means an expedition ship for only twelve guests, a crew of ten and two naturalist guides: as many people looking after you as there are guests. It also means a flexible itinerary: with so few guests, Polarfront adapts its route to the weather, the ice and the wildlife, and can land where large ships cannot go.
Comparing it with a cruise on a large ship means comparing two different trips: the number of guests, the time spent ashore, the closeness to the guides and the flexibility of the program have nothing in common.
Planning your budget
To plan your budget, count the price of the voyage you choose according to the cabin, the flights to Longyearbyen and, if you wish, travel insurance. Our advisors help you choose the season, the voyage and the cabin that suit you: write to us, and we will reply within two business days.
