How much does an East Greenland voyage cost?

Nov 2, 20264 min readBy Latitude Blanche

A voyage to East Greenland is a rare expedition to one of the most remote coasts in the Arctic. Here are our prices, what they include, the flights to plan and how to prepare your budget, in full transparency.

Our prices, suite by suite

We offer two expeditions to East Greenland, each lasting 11 days and 10 nights: From Spitsbergen to East Greenland, Aug 22 – Sep 1, 2027, and From East Greenland to Spitsbergen, Sep 9 – 19, 2027. As of Nov 2, 2026, both are priced the same, per person, based on double occupancy:

  • Mike Suite: €13,880;
  • Loomis Suite: €15,000;
  • Owner’s Suite: €16,680.

That is roughly €1,260 to €1,520 per day, depending on the suite. Polarfront has only eight suites: up-to-date rates and the remaining spots are on our Greenland page. To have a suite to yourself, a 25% single supplement applies.

What the price includes

For your Greenland voyage, the price includes:

  • full board on the ship;
  • the private flight between Constable Point and Reykjavik, aboard a twin-engine aircraft chartered for the group;
  • Zodiac excursions and landings;
  • lectures on board with our two naturalist guides;
  • water activities (polar pedal boat, fishing…);
  • access to the wellness areas;
  • the welcome cocktail, and the Captain’s cocktail and dinner.

In your suite, you will also find an extreme-cold suit per person for Zodiac outings, a bathrobe, towels and toiletries. Polarfront has satellite internet.

What is not included

  • flights to Longyearbyen and to or from Iceland;
  • drinks at the bar and fine wines, purchases at the boutique, communications and laundry;
  • tips, which are at your discretion;
  • travel insurance, if you wish.

Getting to Greenland: flights

Our two voyages begin or end in Greenland, at Constable Point. That means two journeys to plan:

  • in late August, you fly to Longyearbyen via Oslo or Tromsø, to board at 5 p.m. on day one; on day eleven, the private flight drops you in Reykjavik, from where you fly home;
  • in September, it is the other way around: from Reykjavik, the private flight takes you to Constable Point, in Greenland, on day one, and you disembark in Longyearbyen on day eleven.

Svalbard and Greenland are both outside the Schengen area: you need a valid passport, and it is worth checking the entry requirements for your nationality. Like any flight in the Arctic, the private flight depends on the weather: allow some leeway, with a night in Reykjavik before or after, depending on the voyage. Our team can help you choose your flights.

How is the voyage paid for?

Payment is made in three steps: a first installment of 35% of the price to confirm the booking, a second deposit of 30% no later than 90 business days before departure, then the balance. Depending on your bank, paying by credit card may give you access to the insurance that comes with your card. Details are in our terms and conditions.

Why this price?

East Greenland is one of the hardest places to reach in the Arctic. For ten days, no settlement is in sight apart from Ittoqqortoormiit. The charts are not always reliable: our sailors sometimes sound the depth from a Zodiac before Polarfront moves ahead. Add to that the crossing of the Greenland Sea and the private flight between Constable Point and Iceland.

On board, there are no more than twelve guests, with a crew of ten and two naturalist guides: as many people looking after you as there are guests. Everyone goes ashore at the same time, and the itinerary follows the ice and the wildlife every day.

Other ways to visit East Greenland

Other trips exist, and it is only fair to mention them. Larger expedition ships, carrying a hundred guests or more, also sail the east coast and Scoresby Sund, sometimes at a lower price per day, with landings organized in rotations. From Iceland, short trips by plane lead to Kulusuk and Tasiilaq, in southeast Greenland: a more affordable way to set foot in Greenland, but far from Scoresby Sund and Northeast Greenland National Park. Finally, a few expedition sailboats venture there, for a handful of guests and simpler comfort.

We compare these ways of traveling in our guide Polar cruise: cruise liner, expedition ship or sailboat?

Planning your budget

To plan your budget, count the price of the voyage for the suite you choose, your flights to Longyearbyen and to or from Iceland, a night in Reykjavik and, if you wish, travel insurance. To choose between late August and September, see our guide When to go to East Greenland.

Our advisors help you choose the voyage, the suite and your flights: write to us, and we will reply within two business days.
