Artist residency aboard Polarfront

An artist’s eye on polar voyages

Latitude Blanche offers artists the chance to come aboard Polarfront for a residency and bear witness to the voyage in their own way.

A legacy of the great expeditions

Bearing witness
to the voyage

Historically, maritime and scientific expeditions to the polar regions took artists along to record the voyage through their work, whether painting, writing or drawing.

Latitude Blanche carries on this legacy by reinventing the role: we invite artists aboard to offer our guests a sensitive, singular and inspiring perspective on polar voyages.

How it works

A residency
in three stages

  1. Come aboard

The artist is welcomed on board for one or more voyages, depending on the nature of the project they are developing.

  2. Share

Throughout the voyage, the artist shares their creative process with guests and crew, sparking conversations and connections.

  3. Leave a work behind

At the end of the residency, the artist leaves an original work with the ship and the company, a record of their time aboard and a lasting legacy.
