Ten crew members and two guides for twelve guests: everyone counts, and everyone knows each other.
Norway, Spitsbergen, Greenland: sailing up close to the ice, in a way you can’t anywhere else.
A legendary Norwegian hull and, since 2024, diesel-electric propulsion that ranks among the most efficient in its class.
Three departments keep Polarfront running. Choose yours, or tap an area of the ship: its jobs appear right alongside.

Handling the ship in ice, bridge watches, Zodiac and anchoring operations: the deck team takes Polarfront right up to the glaciers, safely.

The heart of the ship: the diesel-electric propulsion installed in 2024, with its two electric motors and three generator sets, power generation and all the onboard systems.

The dining, the suites, the Coriolis lounge: the hotel team makes Polarfront a warm home at the ends of the earth for twelve guests.

We regularly welcome interns from maritime training programs on board.
Students from maritime high schools and officer academies, whether training for both deck and engine or for a single department: with us, they discover the daily life of a polar expedition ship, from the bridge to the engine room.

Ship’s biscuits
At sea, cookies are called ship’s biscuits, and our polar bear loves them. A few are essential to sail this website; the others, such as YouTube’s for our films, only come on board with your consent.
Ship’s biscuits · Ship’s manifest
Every biscuit is listed on the manifest, and the bear on watch awaits your orders: you decide which ones embark. Your choice is kept for six months and can be changed at any time.
Without them the ship would not float: the website language, form security and remembering your choices. They do nothing else and never follow you around.
